Ostaria Hotel Apartments (Amman, Jordan)

Through my work developing social media content for individuals and organizations, my academic art and design exhibits, and my freelance photography, I cultivated a reputation which resulted in an opportunity to design the company logo for Ostaria, a new hotel property development in Jordan. I worked closely with the owners of this establishment to understand the general marketing strategy, specific brand image and positioning, as well as the visual aesthetic the owners sought to achieve. Through an extended collaborative process, I submitted numerous designs for review, developing each logo in response to client feedback and preferences. The final logo design is used for all branding materials, including the company stationary, business cards, indoor and outdoor signage, websites, social media platforms, all on-premise materials, etc.

At first, I created a few prototypes of the logo for my client to choose from.

After looking through many examples of hotel logos online, I decided to design a logo stylistically resembling a crest, in order to imply prestige.

I also designed a logo that elicited an Arabian feel by giving the star eight points and using a different typeface. However, we decided against it, as it took too gimmicky.

In the end, we landed on this far more neutral and minimalist design. Here I incorporated the typeface Didot and turned the "O" into a streak left behind by a shooting star.
